You want your code to be hosted so it doesnt just live on your computer. Your computer might crash and you might lose your coding project forever. Thankfully the network has thirdparty applications such as or to host your projects. Each project on a hosting platform is its own code repository aka. Code for open source projects is also hosted on thirdparty applications. Using a version control system you can modify the code of these projects. One of the popular version control systems is Git Opens in a new tab. Using you Belgium Email List can fork a code repository to your computer. Lets say youre testing an open source product and you find a bug. You were great and tracked down which files code was corrupted causing the error. Click the Code button to start cloning the project. You can make the intended changes on your own branch and then push the changes up. Once you see the changes on the hosting platform you can open a pull request to the projects master branch.
